Town and beach inEl Vendrell
In El Vendrell we bring foam to the summer festivals, face painting and balloon twisting to the square, and games and dancing to birthdays at home. It is a municipality with two faces: the town, inland, and the beach neighbourhoods, from Sant Vicenç de Calders to Coma-ruga.
Pau Casals was born here: his birthplace is on carrer Santa Anna, and his villa on the beach at Sant Salvador is now his museum. The street and the Festa Major share a saint, and the festival usually keeps a part for the children: a children’s correfoc, the fire run, and concerts to go to as a family.
In August, the party moves down to the coast: each beach neighbourhood usually has its own, with fireworks over the sea and habaneras. It is foam’s natural territory: a cannon, music, inflatable balls and a flamingo passed from hand to hand.
If the party is in the street or on the sand, the permit is requested by whoever organises and checked with the town council. We take care of the rest.
When is it party time here?
- in late July (Santa Anna is on the 26th)
- Festa Major de Santa Anna, which usually brings a children’s correfoc.
- in August
- The festivals of Sant Salvador, Coma-ruga, El Francàs and Sant Vicenç de Calders.
- at Carnival (February or March)
- A children’s afternoon in the Plaça Vella to welcome the Rei Carnestoltes, the Carnival King.

Let the Carnival Begin!
The Rei Carnestoltes usually has his children’s afternoon here. For a school or local group Carnival, Cuca and the Cuquis arrive with challenges, routines and a grand finale in which everybody dances.

How long does it take us to get here?
We set off from Vilanova i la Geltrú: the centre of El Vendrell is about 25 km away, around 26 minutes by car. To the beach neighbourhoods, it depends on which one.
What people ask us
Can we have a foam party on the beach at Coma-ruga or Sant Salvador?
That is for the town council to decide, so ask them before setting a date. The cannon needs 6 × 8 m and a water tap within 10 m; the foam is pH-neutral and biodegradable.
We are a local group and want something for the children at Santa Anna. What would you recommend?
In the July heat, foam if there is water nearby, or face painting and balloon twisting in the shade if the square is paved in stone. Tell us the place and the time and we will organise the afternoon.
Do you reach the beach neighbourhoods or only the centre?
The whole municipality, from the town centre to Coma-ruga, Sant Salvador, El Francàs and Sant Vicenç de Calders: tell us the neighbourhood and we will work out our arrival.
