The journeyof your booking
This is what you need to know before confirming a party with Disparate. We tell it in order, the way it happens, and we start with the short version, because life is short.
You say yes
Every story starts with someone saying yes. This one starts with two moves: you fill in the form and you send the deposit.
The deposit
With part of the total up front, that day is already yours.
(Between 40 % and 60 %. The rest once the party is over.)
The dragon at the end of the hall
That deposit is guarded by a dragon. He is old, he is grumpy, and his job is to watch over the treasure chest.
Once you hand him the deposit, the date is booked for you and everything starts moving towards the big day. That is why, once the payment is made, there are no refunds. What we can do is change the date: you will just have to negotiate with the dragon.

You get the ground ready
Once you have said yes, it is time to think about where it all happens. All it takes is somewhere comfortable for the little ones and workable for us.
A clear space
Almost any space works for us. The characters move around a lot, the capes fly, and it helps if nobody has a table right behind them.
(5 × 5 m clear of obstacles. Indoors, 2.5 m of headroom minimum.)
If it does not quite fit that description — which is very rare — we can adapt the show to whatever is there or find another room, whichever suits you. The easiest thing is to send us a photo of the space when you book: that way we see it in good time and there is nothing to decide on the day.
(Adapting it carries a 20 % surcharge. The room, at its own cost.)
So you can hear us
If live music is playing at the same time or another activity is under way, the little ones get distracted and miss half of it. That is why we recommend planning the event and spreading the activities out, so each one gets its own moment.
(No parallel activities during the show. Ambient noise below 70 dB.)
Cool in summer
In June, July and August, the more shade and shelter the better. If you are celebrating outdoors, go for somewhere with greenery and avoid direct midday sun. Everyone will be grateful: the children last longer and so does the face paint.
Two sockets within 20 m
We need to plug in the sound and the lights. What matters most is not where the socket is, but where the cable ends up running: along the wall and away from where the little ones are moving, because with children running about a cable across the middle always finds someone.
Somewhere to unload
We need somewhere nearby to park our CucaVan. We arrive with a fair few cases and boxes, so a spot by the door saves us half an hour of back and forth.
(Parking or loading area within 500 m. If it is further, a surcharge of up to €50. If there is no way to park, we sort it out for €25 extra.)
Getting there
We set off from Vilanova i la Geltrú in our CucaVan, and travel is charged separately from the show.
(€0.50 per kilometre, round trip. Beyond 50 km, a specific quote.)
How many of you
Ideally we have the number of children a week before the event, though we know a couple of stragglers always turn up at the last minute, and a couple is no problem at all. If there end up being quite a few more, we adjust things so there is enough Disparate to go round.
(Margin of 2 children over the booked number. With 48 hours' notice we extend the package; with less notice or on the day itself, €20 per extra child, always subject to availability.)
The big day
And the day arrives. Here is what happens:
The hours
We turn up a while beforehand to set everything up calmly. We know things happen, so you have ten minutes of grace in case you are running late; after that we start anyway, with whatever time is left, because there is almost always another party waiting its turn.
(We arrive 15 to 30 minutes early. Ten minutes' grace; after that the show is shortened by however long the wait lasts. After 1 hour of waiting, the event counts as performed and is paid for in full. We work with a ±10 minute margin on the booked duration: good endings are not cut short with a stopwatch.)
The sky
Several gremlins travel in the big case, and gremlins must never get wet. Ever. They share their luggage with the speakers, the microphones and the lights, which do not take it well either: water and electricity, with children running around, is a mixture we would rather not test.
(The same goes for wind above 25 km/h, below 5 °C, above 35 °C or a storm.)
If the party is outdoors, having a roof in mind just in case saves the day. A garage, a big dining room, the place round the corner: almost anything works. Tell us when you book and we will say whether it does.
(When there is no covered space and the weather does not cooperate, the event counts as performed and is paid for in full.)
If the plan changes
Not every story works first time, and that is fine: almost everything can be sorted out.
Moving the date or the time
The date can be moved. Write to us as soon as you know and we will find another one that works for both of us. Changing the time on the day itself is possible too, though it means rearranging everything else.
(Date changes subject to availability. Time change on the day itself: €100.)
If it cannot happen after all
Let us know as soon as you can. The deposit stays with the dragon, and if you give us more than a week's notice there is nothing else to pay.
(Cancelling with less than 7 days' notice, the full amount is charged.)
If the world stops
Pandemics, disasters, general strikes. If something like that happens, you choose.
(A new date at no cost, or a refund of 75 % of what has been paid.)
So everyone is comfortable
We work with children, with electrical equipment and with a lot of people moving around at once, so there are a few situations where we have to stop for safety.
(The show is suspended on the spot and without a refund if any of these occur: aggression towards the team, physical or verbal; use of substances around the activity; intentional damage to equipment; risk to anyone's safety; aggressive animals off the lead; failure to follow safety rules; unilateral changes to what was agreed; or more than 50 % more attendees than booked.)
One last thing
Who takes care of what, the photos, your data and who to write to.
Who takes care of what
We carry public liability insurance, which covers damage to third parties during the activity.
During the show, parents remain responsible for keeping an eye on the little ones and for telling us about allergies, fears or intolerances before the day.
The photos
During the show we take photos and film a little video, which is the best way to show how good a time everyone has.
If anyone would rather not appear in the story, just tell us in writing before the event and that is that. No cost and no questions.
Our branding
Our branding is part of the set-up at every event: the costumes, the signs and even the CucaVan are dressed as Disparate. Taking it all away is possible, although it does leave the set-up half undressed.
(Removing the branding: 60 % surcharge on the booked amount.)
Your data
We keep only what we need to work: name, phone, email, event address and how many of you there will be. It is not passed to anyone unless the law requires it.
Everything else — exactly what we keep, where it sleeps and how you get it back — is explained calmly in privacy.
(Retention: 6 years from your last Disparate, under tax rules.)
If something did not go as you hoped
Write to us within a couple of days and we will look at it calmly, because almost everything is sorted out by talking.
(Within 48 h of the event. For anything that cannot be sorted out by talking, the courts of Vilanova i la Geltrú have jurisdiction.)
Any questions before you say yes? Write to us, we reply quickly.
Ask usBy confirming your booking you accept these terms and the processing of your data as described here. Last updated: 23 September 2026. If they ever change, we will let you know 15 days in advance.
