Three town festivals inCalafell

In Calafell we bring colour foam to the summer festivals, parades to the promenade and K-Pop routines to birthdays at home. It is a municipality of three parts, the Poble, the Platja and Segur, and each one has its own Festa Major.

The whole summer fits between the three: Sant Pere opens it in the Platja and Sant Miquel closes it in Segur. From beach to beach there are five kilometres of unbroken seafront promenade; inland, the castle of la Santa Creu and the Ciutadella Ibèrica, the Iberian citadel.

The programmes take the children seriously. There has been a children’s correfoc, the fire run, a riot of confetti and bubbles to close Sant Pere, and even a tractor that drives round the Poble soaking anyone who lets it. With that precedent, colour foam surprises nobody.

Each part of town has its festival squares: Plaça Alcalde Romeu and Plaça del Manila in the Platja, Plaça de Catalunya in the Poble and Plaça Pau Casals in Segur. If a local group or a residents’ community wants a party of its own, we take care of organising the event, from the show to the sound.

    Holi Foam Party

For any of the three summer festivals: foam in five colours, games and dancing. Where even a tractor comes out to soak the children, it fits right in.

  • K-Pop Show

    K-Pop Show

For birthdays from 5 to 10: they learn a routine bit by bit, film it and go home with the edited video. All it asks for is a place where the volume can go up.

  • Magic Parade

    Magic Parade

Five kilometres of unbroken promenade call for a party that moves: characters, princesses and Cuca on parade, with stops for photos.

How long does it take us to get here?

We set off from Vilanova i la Geltrú: Calafell is about 22 km away, just over 20 minutes by car.

What people ask us

We are from Segur and our festival is in late September. Is it still a good time for foam?

It depends on the afternoon: if people feel like getting wet, foam; if it turns cool, face painting and balloon twisting or a dance show fill the square just the same.

Can we set something up on the sand or on the promenade in Calafell?

The beach is managed by Costas, the coastal authority, and the town council, so check with the town council first. On Segur beach there are also dunes where the plover nests, and they are best left in peace.

Is there room in Calafell for a big party?

Port Segur-Calafell has a square of more than 10,000 m² designed for events. Who lends it out, and on what terms, is something to ask the port and the town council first.
