Home-grown parties inVilanova i la Geltrú
In Vilanova we bring the Carnival show, street parades, face painting and balloon twisting, and birthdays at home. It is the town we set off from, and the home of the Moixó Foguer, a bird of honey and feathers that survives nowhere else.
Vilanova’s year revolves around the plaça de la Vila, arcaded and lined with palm trees: that is where the Sermó del Rei Carnestoltes, the Carnival King’s sermon, and the sweet war both come to an end. A very local detail: the bylaw asks for those sweets to come in compostable wrappers.
The Carnival holds the status of Festa Patrimonial d'Interès Nacional, and it has its Saturday of Mascarots for the little ones. For schools, parent associations and local groups we bring Cuca and the Cuquis’ Carnival show, and face painting so every carnival troupe comes out matching. And for the Festa Major, Cuca created face-painting templates of her own, based on the beasts of the festive bestiary.
The rest of the year, the birthday at home is the P&G Express: two artists, a dressing table and a balloon figure for every child. And for the stroll afterwards, the Ribes Roges park has a playground and a miniature train next to the beach.

Which show fits here?

Let the Carnival Begin!
A Carnival with national heritage status deserves a show to match: costume challenges and everybody dancing at the end.

Vilanova is a town of cercaviles, its festive parades. Our parade of characters and princesses turns the route into a party on the move.

How long does it take us to get here?
We set off from Vilanova i la Geltrú, so the journey here is a short one: from the Mar neighbourhood to la Geltrú or Ribes Roges, we arrive with time to spare to set up.
What people ask us
Can we have the show in a square in Vilanova?
Festive events in the street need express permission from the town council. The procedure is designed for local groups and asks for a site plan, timetable, capacity and public liability insurance. If a family is organising, check with the town council first.
Do you bring face painting to a school Carnival?
Yes. The Face Painting & Balloons corner is set up in the playground, with a little wristband so nobody has to queue, and a made-to-measure design if the carnival troupe is going as a matching set.
Do you come to la Geltrú as well?
Of course. La Geltrú has its own Festa Major around 15 August and a smaller one in November. For us it is the same journey as to the town centre.
In the words of someone who has already had their party
55 out of 5 stars
Shall we put ona proper Disparate in the Garraf?
Just by writing to us, you have already done more than half the work. We take care of the rest. And it only takes 2 minutes, unicorn's honour.
