Parties by the Foix inCubelles
In Cubelles we bring colour, face painting and princesses to local group parties and birthdays at home, in Vilanova’s next-door town, on the other side of the mouth of the Foix.
Cubelles has four beaches of fine sand and shallow water, a seafront promenade facing the Platja Llarga and a castle documented in 1041. At the August Festa Major, the cercavila, the festive parade, runs from the plaça de la Vila to the plaça del Mar, with a stretch designed with diversity in mind.
Its Carnival draws thousands of people and has a children’s Carnival of its own that ends with hot chocolate in the marquee. For the Castanyada, the chestnut festival, the town council has rolled chestnuts and Halloween into “Castaween”, with mask workshops for the little ones.
And this is where Charlie Rivel was born; he has a permanent exhibition with his costumes and his awards. For parties at home, the P&G Princess: a face painter, a balloon twister and a princess who reads them her story.

How long does it take us to get here?
We set off from Vilanova i la Geltrú, about 9 km from the centre of Cubelles: twelve minutes by car, with the Foix in between.
What people ask us
Can I hold the birthday in a square in Cubelles?
Squares are requested by local groups, not by families: the municipal spaces bylaw leaves private individuals out and requires a licence at least twenty days in advance. For a family party, the easy option is the house, the garden or the estate’s communal area.
Do you have anything for a residential estate’s Sant Joan party?
Neighbourhood and estate parties have their place in the noise bylaw, with municipal permission. For the children, the Holi Show or face painting; the permit is handled by whoever organises.
Do you do face painting for a school’s Castanyada?
Yes. The Face Painting & Balloons corner is set up in the playground, with a wristband for every child, a glitter or neon version and a balloon figure for each of them.
