From the promenade to the square,Castelldefels
In Castelldefels we bring foam, bouncy castles, face painting and kids’ shows to birthdays, schools and neighbourhood parties. Water is a habit here: the Ajuntament itself puts a Festa de l'aigua and a foam party into its Festa Major.
Castelldefels lives facing the sea, and it shows in the calendar. At the August Festa Major, the children’s morning ends in water and foam in the plaça de l'Església, and the festival says goodbye with fireworks on the seafront promenade. Even the Three Kings usually make an appearance on the sand.
Summer is also shared out by neighbourhood: Vista Alegre, Canyars, Bellamar or Montmar hold their own party, nearly always with a slot for the children. That is where a face painting corner or a skating duel fits in.
If the party goes out into the street, the Ajuntament has a procedure for occupying the public highway for festivals and events: a site plan, insurance and three months’ notice. For a July party, that means applying in April.
When is it party time here?
- on 23 June
- Sant Joan: the Flama del Canigó arrives at the plaça de l'Església and the official bonfire burns on the Muntanyeta.
- in mid-August
- Festa Major d'Estiu: funfair, water and foam for the children, and fireworks on the promenade.
- on 31 October
- Castanyada and Halloween, with a family party in the plaça Neus Català.

How long does it take us to get here?
We set off from Vilanova i la Geltrú and take the C-32: about 27 km to Castelldefels, just over 20 minutes. From the beach to Montmar, tell us the street when you ask for your quote and we will tell you what time we will arrive.
What people ask us
Does foam work for an end-of-year party?
Yes. The cannon needs 6 × 8 m, ideally on grass, and a water tap within 10 m. If it is in the street, allow for the procedure and its three months.
Can we hold the party on the beach?
Castelldefels treats its beach as a natural space: it has its own bylaw and use plan for the beach, and at Sant Joan it does not even allow bonfires on the sand. What fits there is for the Ajuntament to decide, so ask in good time.
Do you paint a carnival troupe for Carnival?
Yes. The children’s parade sets off on Carnival Sunday, and the face painting corner is set up beforehand in the clubhouse or the playground, so the troupe heads out with matching faces.
